Professional and Faculty Development
To better align teaching and learning with assessment methods, CAE offers ongoing workshops in which faculty gain insight into the process of creating performance tasks. The Performance Task Workshop is a highly interactive, collaborative environment designed to encourage participants to leave with tangible performance tasks of their own creation.
To date, CAE has held more than 100 faculty development workshops both nationally and internationally, serving more than 2,000 faculty members from more than 275 institutions. With a focus on task development, our workshops help faculty members use their own content and curriculum to create performance assessments. Incorporating performance tasks into classroom learning engages students and develops their critical-thinking and problem-solving skills. An overview of the assessment process and the importance and uses of assessment results are also discussed.
CAE also offers customized workshops designed to assist member institutions in their efforts to analyze and interpret their CLA+ or CWRA+ data.
CAE’s expert staff is also available to work with participating institutions as they evaluate their data and explore best practices for implementation.
The next workshops will be tentatively held in October 2017 and January 2018. Final dates will be decided toward the end of summer 2017.
