CAE is pleased to introduce Dr. Mark Keough. Mark Keough, our newest Fellow for the Asia/Pacific region. Mark joins a distinguished team of CAE Fellows including Dr. J Enrique Froemel-Andrade and Dr. Stuart Brand. CAE Fellows assist CAE by introducing and supporting our flagship assessments, CLA+ and CWRA+, as well as our next generation and custom assessments for their regions. CAE Fellows are selected based upon their expertise in the fields of education and assessment. Their responsibilities include recruitment of institutions, presenting at regional conferences, and reporting regional updates during project meetings, particularly those sponsored by the OECD.
Stuart Brand, PhD
Stuart has worked in Higher Education for over thirty years as a postdoctoral researcher, then a Senior Lecturer in Applied Human Physiology, then becoming Associate Dean in the Faculty of Health at Birmingham City University in 2002 and led the University’s successful bid for a Centre of Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETL) in 2004. He then was appointed as University’s Director of Learning and Teaching in 2007 and in 2012 took up the post of Director of Learning Experience. In 2016 he relinquished his management post and is now working as a consultant on various projects, notably a Higher Education Funding Council-funded pilot across four universities looking at measurement of Learning Gain.
J. Enrique Froemel-Andrade, PhD
J. Enrique Froemel-Andrade, a Chilean educator, active in various settings and roles, both national and international is the Latin-America Fellow of the Council for Aid to Education. His fields of specialty are educational evaluation and measurement and his research interests range from assessment and educational policy to Higher Education and school learning. He has been active in education administration, including being Rector of two private universities and a tenured professor. He has taught at the graduate and undergraduate levels in several universities, in Chile and abroad. He spent six years at the State of Qatar, building their school level educational assessment system, as part of its “Education for a New Era” reform. Presently, he is the Executive Director of a large project funded by the Chilean Government, at the Pontifical University of Valparaíso.
Mark Keough, D. Comm.
Dr. Mark Keough is a learning solutions leader with 25 years of experience in internet-based learning systems and content development. He founded one of the first LMS companies in the world and brings valuable insight based on his experience in the corporate and formal education sectors. He has held roles with Qantas, ANZ Bank, Westpac, Le Cordon Bleu, and most recently Dulux, among others. He was the founding Vice-president for Learning Solutions for US jobs giant Monster.com. He is an Adjunct Academic in Education at Flinders University and a member of the Australian Institute of Training and Development. His research field specializes in learner engagement and recognition. He stays well informed about available education technologies for learning management, learning experiences and content.
